Evecon Raju
MMA Raju, Event Platform & Fight Database
The digital home of Evecon RAJU, Estonia's biggest MMA event series: full fight database, event pages, ticketing and live coverage in three languages. Sten has designed for RAJU since the very first events.
Sixteen years in the corner
We have worked with the RAJU promotion since 2010, back when the events were still called MMA RAJU 1, 2 and 3 and the job was banners and event graphics. The series grew from a Tartu sports hall to Tondiraba Ice Hall, the largest indoor arena in Estonia, and the collaboration grew with it: brand and poster design, the website, ticketing pages, email campaigns, fighter graphics for web and broadcast, even the interactive floor plan the organizers use to seat the arena. Today the promotion runs as Evecon RAJU, and the full history of the partnership is written into our own database, one sponsor name at a time.
One database, every fight
The heart of the platform is a relational fight database covering the entire history of the series: 19 events, 271 bouts and 314 fighters, fully bilingual in Estonian and English. Every result, method, judge score and corner record is structured data, so the site can render fight cards, past-event archives and results tables from a single source of truth.
Live results, a first for the Estonian fight game
Fight nights are covered live. Results flow from a spreadsheet the matchmakers edit straight into mmaraju.com through a sync pipeline we built for the purpose, so the fight card updates while the arena is still on its feet. Nobody else in the Estonian fight game does this: fans at home see the method and the round minutes after the referee waves it off, not the next morning. No developer needed at cageside, although we have been there too.
More than a website
Around the site sits the rest of the event machine: Fienta ticketing in three languages (Estonian, English and Russian), a pay-per-view watch-live page, email campaigns for every event, a password-gated reporting portal for the organizers, and a production pipeline that turns raw fighter photography into matched, broadcast-ready profile graphics.
The platform
Under the hood it is WordPress, but not as you know it. We customized it heavily for the job: a design system built on AutomaticCSS, custom data structures for fighters, bouts and events, and automations that handle the repetitive work, from syncing results to generating fight-card layouts. Dark theme, brand gold, and the fastest version of the site the series has ever had. That is the site you see in the cover image, real pixels, not a mockup.
